As a parent and advocate for students and families, Sofia Colón proudly serves as Stockton Unified School District Board Trustee for Area 6. Sofia prioritizes our students, ensures fiscal responsibility, and partners with our community to ensure student success.
Priorities
Literacy is the foundation for all student achievement. I have highlighted this important standard and fully support the changes we’re making to enhance student success. We have taken significant steps to strengthen early literacy instruction, ensuring that our youngest learners have the foundational skills needed for success. Read more about it!
Fiscal accountability is a key responsibility of a Trustee, ensuring transparency and responsible stewardship of public resources. I have worked to strengthen fiscal accountability across our district and am proud of the progress we’ve made, including Stockton Unified’s removal from the California Department of Education’s High-Risk Designation.
Community involvement is essential. I have worked to ensure transparency, collaboration, and meaningful engagement with students, staff, and stakeholders. From hosting community events to advocating for equity and school safety, my goal has always been to listen, learn, and lead with the voices of our community in mind.
